What the Symbol means :

Splitting of the form of a child in contrasting colour, represents abnormality and disability. The ring of thorns is a universal symbol of pain and suffering, and has been used here to emphasise the condition of the disabled. To symbolise their salvation, the mother, representing warmth, love, protecting and understanding, is shown with arms held out.
