Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Dy. Chairman, Planning Commission, felicitated Impact India Foundation’s Chairman, A. H. Tobaccowala during the 172nd Foundation day function of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry on September 21st. Former Chairman, Voltas Ltd and Director, Tata Group Mr. Tobaccowala received this award for his diametrically diverse achievements, contributions and services to the trade and industry and yeoman’s social service through Impact India Foundation which introduces the world’s first hospital train, “The Lifeline Express”. While thanking the Bombay Chamber for this honour Mr. Tobaccowala paid homage to over 70,000 surgeons, doctors, anesthetists and nurses who have willingly donated their services in the very well-equipped Lifeline Express hospital train, in its projects in the most backward areas of our country working long hours but having to live under conditions not even equal to three-star hotels.
The occasion was also graced by Deepak Parekh, Chairman, HDFC Ltd, Ranjit Shahani, President, Bombay Chamber, Dr. Indu Shahani, John Abraham, Actor and other dignitaries from the corporate world.
