The Lifeline Express earned back-to-back feathers
in its cap in Chhattisgarh, with the completion of its two projects in
Durg and Pendra. After the phenomenal response that it received in
Durg, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Ajit Jogi, requested
Impact India to send the Express to the constituency of Pendra. In the
month that followed, more than 2,300 operations were conducted and
over 6,000 registered. Regretfully, Impact was not able to help 15,000
more disabled persons who came to the train. |

The media frenzy was evident in the barrage of
articles that appeared in the many local and regional publications of
the region. With the unstinting assistance of the Chhattisgarh
administration and of the many local villagers, the project was a
hands down success. The words of our Chairman Mr. A H Tobaccowala
convey our gratitude when he says: "Without the invaluable role of the
Chief Minister, the benefits that the people in and around Pendra
derived could not have been possible. Our Foundation will continue to
take interest in Chhattisgarh." |
