Impact India
Foundation, has organised an intense Malaria Prevention
Programme in Mumbai, to help create greater awareness on the hazards of malaria and empower
the community to take appropriate preventive measures.
As the incidence of Malaria is highest in the Monsoon, the workshops and
community intervention programmes are held before its onset. The Malaria Clinic set up by
Impact India Foundation
and sponsored by Tata Social Welfare Trust, in 'A 'Ward of Mumbai, has completed two
years on April 5, 2001.
It has been rendering services, free of cost, to slum dwellers by testing blood
smears and dispensing medicine in designated pockets of 'A' Ward, which lie within Fort and
Cuffe Parade, Mumbai. It is important that, in every citizen, a sense of civic
responsibility is awakened, in which each takes responsibility for the cleanliness of the area and
well being of the community. |
