	Impact India's Lifeline Express, the world's very first hospital on rails, was on view at the Chhatrapathi Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai.

	The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Zelma Lazarus, Chief Executive Officer, Impact India Foundation, by the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) at the 29th All India PR Conference on 13th December in Chennai.
	Sep 2007
	Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Dy. Chairman, Planning Commission, felicitated Impact India Foundation’s Chairman, A. H. Tobaccowala during the 172nd Foundation day function of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry on September 21st. In September 2007, Impact India introduced a second LLE mobile clinic to meet increasing needs for screening and healthcare in Maharasthra.
	July 2007
	The newest version of the Magic Train of India, was inaugurated by Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson, United Progressive Alliance (UPA) at a function presided over by Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, on July 12th, 2007, in the National Rail Museum, New Delhi.
	May 2007
	Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, visited the Closing ceremony of the 92nd Lifeline Express project in Palghar on May 24 th. This was the first time ever that a Chief Minister has visited this town. The CM arrived at 10 am by helicopter and was greeted by Mr. A. H. Tobaccowala, who together with Col. R.S. Vishwen escorted him on a tour of the train. The CM remarked that the Lifeline Express hospital had five-star facilities.
	April 2007
	Peter Offer, the President Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI) donated Portable Ophthalmoscopes and Optyse Units to Impact’s CEO, Zelma Lazarus in London on April 14, 2007. The Lifeline Express, the world’s first hospital on a train, is undergoing a change! .... The new train will double our capacity for medical services to the rural poor all over India.
	March 2007
	Dr. Kautz, a German Ophthalmologist, a Medical Volunteer to Impact in the past on the Lifeline Express -- had assisted in the conduct of ophthalmic surgeries performed on the LLE. Dr. Kautz paid a quick visit to Talasari, Impact’s Community Health Initiative, Group II while in India in March, 2007.
	February 2007
	Cebu City, Philippines hosted an International Federation of Impact Organisations conference in February 2007. Impact India was represented by Chairman, A. H. Tobaccowala and CEO, Zelma Lazarus. The conference attended by 10 Impact member countries focused on the theme, “Challenges for Innovative and Cost Effective Strategies in Preventing and Mitigating Disability.”

	December 11 – 14, 2006 Ian and Kate Monaghan visited Impact India and made a presentation in Mumbai to introduce Vanguard Healthcare’s Surgical Bus.
	October - November 2006
	November 15 – 17, 2006 Impact India welcomed the visit of Impact UK Foundation’s Vice Chairman Captain John Scott, Andrea Scott, Simon Rea – Impact U.K.’s Programme Manager - and Eric and Jonathan Anstead. Impact U.K. Foundation has been instrumental in providing funds for the remodelling of the Lifeline Express replacement coaches and also towards the Lifeline Express Mobile Clinic. November 13, 2006 Amidst much fan fare Impact’s Lifeline Express Mobile Clinic flagged off the District Health and Sanitation Week on Monday, November 13th in Thane. October 30 to November 12, 2006 Impact India was delighted to host the visit of Melissa Wells, former US Ambassador, and former United Nations Under Secretary General and now Impact’s World Ambassador.
	September 2006
	Impact India Foundation has received yet another very large donation of Humanitarian Aid from AmeriCares, U.S.A. - this time 55,000 doses of Rubella vaccine specially produced by Merck, USA, valued at about Rs 5.17 crores (US $ 1.1 million), for the tribal belt of Thane District where there is much prevalence of Rubella. In addition to this generous gift, AmeriCares India has also donated 55,000 syringes to enable immunization to be implemented as soon as possible.

	August 2006
	As part of Impact India’s Community Health Initiative (CHI) in the tribal Blocks of Thane District, Maharashtra, Clefts surgeries have commenced with patients from Talasari and Palghar having undergone Lip and Palate surgeries in Mumbai at Shushrusha Hospital, Dadar and Godrej Memorial Hospital, Vikhroli.

	July 2006
	The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of India has been formed, under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister in response to The Disaster Management Act, 2005. This year the NDMA invited Impact India to share its expertise and work towards preparation of the National Disaster Management Plan for the country.
