After its periodic Overhaul at the Central Railway Workshop in Mumbai, the Lifeline Express was on display at the main Railway Terminus, Mumbai on August 3 and 4, 2004. Hundreds of visitors braved the heavy rainfall to visit the hospital train before it embarked on its 68th Project to Narsapur in Andhra Pradesh. Among the visitors were hundreds of schoolchildren who have studied a six-page Chapter on the Lifeline Express in their prescribed Standard X English Workbook. They were delighted to see the “real thing.” There are 6146 Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) schools in India amounting to a total of three million students who have studied about The Lifeline Express since it first appeared in school textbooks. |
